The Shosei-en Garden, in Kyoto, is a small garden (about eight acres) near the Higashi Honganji temple complex, to which it belongs. It is also called ‘Kikoku-tei’ (trifoliate orange) because of the presence of that type of orange tree in the garden. The garden is not far from the main Kyoto Station. It was landscaped in 1653.
