The Mona Vale Garden is part of the Mona Vale Homestead and Park, in the middle of Christchurch. Although small in size (only 9 acres) the property has many touristic attractions such as the garden gazebo and the Victorian homestead, which is listed as a heritage building. Unfortunately the latter was damaged during the 2010 Canterbury earthquake and then again during the February 2011 ‘aftershock’, so it was still closed at the time of this visit (February 2013). It was however possible to visit the surroundings and the garden.
